I never was an officer of my chapter as was not there long enough after we were colonized, but was still a part of the chapter.

I had a position called "bar chairman" which consisted of two jobs. One was making sure ther was enough beer, liquor, ice, limes, olives, cherries, onions and all the stuff that went into standard mixed drinks. We had parties, but with 28 fraternities, there was no need to have one every Friday and Saturday night. Naturally, anything involving alcohol was profitable - in ten months, the bar made about $900 profit (in 1966).
The second was making sure the house was stocked with snacks. Lots of flavors of soda pop. Small frozen pizzas. Ice cream bars. Chips, pretzels, cheetos, peanuts, etc. Prior to my tenure, all that was available was bags of chips, etc. My snacks were immensely popular - about $3000 a year. Needless to say, the social chairman (my boss) was quite pleased - lots of good bands (including some classical and jazz), a big Christmas tree and equipment for just about any sport.
