We as Actives and Alums know that there can and will be a lot to do for our Chapters.
What do you do and are you active?
Me, was on house Corporation for 12 years and now Alumni President for 6 years.
Are you still involved? Why and why not?

I've been President of the Board of Advisors at my home chapter, Chapter Advisor at our UofM- Dearborn chapter, and am a Province Advisor with our National (visit and advise chapters in 75-100 mile radius from home)
Still involved because I think being in a fraternity gives experience in dealing with people and business matters that can not be learned from a textbook.
There are several activities and a couple jobs I've held that I don't think would have happened without the person the fraternity helped me become as an undergrad. I want to see the fraternity system make that available for today's and tomorrow's undergrads.

Wow TJ you said a mouth full! It has kept me young working with the "kids" at not only my chapter but meeting those from others. I know some of the GLO Int. do not have the where with all to have paid members like LXA and others do, so do depend on Alumni to give thier time such as yourself to cover ands aide the new younger members. I guess that is why I admire you so much!

I'm trying to crank up a California alumni chapter - hopefully recolonize a couple of chapters.
Meanwhile helping a colony at Texas Tech and a brother doing fundraising at Penn State.

modorney, knowing from our conversations, I know what all you are doing and admire your for it!
Acacia should be very proud to have a Brother like you.
But, I feel that any Alum who work with thier chapter is a heck of a person.
We lose to many after graduation who never come back or do anything at all. It is the old 80/20 rule of course. 80% don't and 20% do.

Saturday one of our Alums moved back fro Oklahoma to K C Metro.
Put out on Alum F B site a gathering at a local pub. Decided to go and found some guys there that don't get to see that often.
Saw a Brother that I hade not seen n years and some of fairly younger Alums who asked me about what was going on at chapter. They wanted to know if I was going to Founders Day and when I said yes, they said great that they want to go down also! What is great about that is they want to stay in touch and be a part of the chapter. This just shows the chapter will feel much better with a lot of Alumni backing! The young men in chapter must know that we still care and are greatful.
This goes a long way in keeping in touch among all of us.
Like modorney he is working with a chapter that was not his and that should help them !
