At least 13 state lawmakers in five states have defected to Republican ranks since the Nov. 2 election, adding to already huge GOP gains in state legislatures. And that number could grow as next year's legislative sessions draw near.
The tally so far: four in Alabama, six in Georgia, and one each in Louisiana, Maine and South Dakota. Thanks to the switches, the GOP now has a majority in the Louisiana House and a supermajority in the Alabama House "that allows them to pass legislation without any support from the other party."
It reminds us of a joke:
What do you call a moderate Democrat?
A Republican!

they other answer to what do you call a "moderate" democrat is >> extinct.
But that's true on both sides of the aisle it seems. I long for the days I was in government and ran for office. My one boss was an elected democrat in county govt... I was President of the Greater Toledo Republican Club at the time he hired me as the Chief Fiscal Officer for the dept. >>> Why would he do that?? He wanted who he thought could do the job the best. That doesn't happen any longer in Toledo area.

Lest we forget Kansas who virtually went all Republican! Now the important part is to see if the do anything different than when Democrates were in power??? All are lambs until they get elected and then the wolves cloak comes out! Next question is "Should all ear marks-Pork be taken out and banned? Some of it is needed, but needs to be an oversight on what is good or not. Is that even possible? Oh, scratch my back and I scratch your back crap, not what is good for the people!
