What did your chapter do while you were there that you did that sounded great but did not turn out to well or otherwise?

We had a new pledge when we were a Local who came up with the idea of raffeling off a VW Bug for a money maker!
Had the Bug on the house lawn so all could see what a chance for $1.00 could win them.
Kansas Attorney General decided it was illegal and sent a note of cease and desist.
Okay, we moved the Bug to the back of the house and kept on.
Unforntunitly we lost money on the deal! ;D

One of our brothers bought a race car: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Elevenfrom that wiki: "A 750cc version won the Index of Performance at Le Mans in 1957." His was this actual car! He assembled it at the fraternity house, and drove around the married student housing on campus (since it was not street legal, he did not want to take it on the actual streets,) For his final run, he opened it up (no muffler) and zipped around the streets, now chased by campus cops. He quickly pulled into the fraternity lot, threw the cover over it, and jumped behind the bushes as the cops drove by. |
