Alcohol returns to Missouri fraternity houses The Associated Press * Alcohol returns to Missouri fraternity houses COLUMBIAUniversity of Missouri fraternity members 21 and older will soon be able to consume alcohol in their frat houses. The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that the campus Interfraternity Council approved the policy change last week. The change takes effect when the 2012 fall semester begins in August. Alcohol will still be forbidden at campus sororities. Current policy forbids alcohol in Greek houses, which are not campus property. The new rule will require fraternities to obtain permission from chapter advisers, alumni representatives and property owners before seeking an alcohol permit. Beer kegs and other forms of communal consumption won't be allowed. A Columbia police sergeant told the Tribune she expects an increase in alcohol-related misconduct and medical emergency calls at fraternity houses as a result of the change. www.kansascity.com/2011/11/16/3269538/alcohol-returns-to-missouri-fraternity.html
