CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- Four California University of Pennsylvania students were arrested after forcing their way inside a frat house and beating up two people early Friday morning, borough police said.
"All accused appeared at the TKE fraternity house uninvited. The accused forcibly entered the residence and engaged in a fight," said a police statement about the incident, which happened shortly before 3 a.m.
The suspects were identified by police as Jacob W. Hetzer, 21, of Stoystown; Michael C. Boyd, 20, of Finleyville; Rithichai V. Phothisuk, 20, of Cheswick; and Joel A. Zollars, 22, of Waynesburg. They were arraigned in front of District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of burglary, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment.
According to the police statement, one victim was repeatedly punched in the head and face, and the other was knocked to the ground and punched and kicked in the face.
Both victims were treated for facial injuries. Police said one was taken by ambulance to Mon Valley Hospital and the other was taken by campus police to the Student Health Center.
The suspects were taken to Washington County Correctional Facility, with bail set at $25,000.
