I guess I never really gave much thought to having a paddle - we had to make our own and as pledges we had every active and our pledge brtohers sign it. No one was ever actually paddled, or even intimidated with the thought it may happen.
Not being a very good carpenter/artist, mine wasn't real fancy, but I still have it 32 years later.

Man what s super paddle. I cannot remember how many years back now, but each class made a big paddle with Officers and class names on it with class designation. IHQ edicted NO PADDLES even for decorations. It represented hazing we were told. So after the last one made, all the newer Associated members were upset about it. The ones we have are hanging on the walls and when guys come back, they show their wives and kids!!! Knee jerk reactions can go way over board like this!
