I know most of the schools and colleges in the deep South USA have the most toughest or competitive recruitment. Given their deep seated tradition they are stuck in in some way and their culture, its more of a buyers market for chapters then what choice the rushees have. To even have a chance as some could kinda tell either involves a) early preparation by visiting early whether it be during the summer time after high school or their high school year or b) be from the deep south .
Whereas as one heads more north to more of like Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and some the east coast, greek life is known to be frowned upon and looked down or easily ignored with not very many ppl in it. Yet at the same time these schools are also in general more tougher to get into in terms of admission combined with a high academic standard. Anyone have any schools to add? What schools would be considered tough in greek life?
Here are some to add to the list:
University of Virginia
University of Georgia
University of mississippi- I have heard of one guy, who I heard by name through some of his high school friends here from KS at my school about his membership at Sigma Chi. Interestingly given his intention and such, personally it sounds like he cares more about partying and greek life then for a education. though it does make sense that its more or less of some "rich kids" school down there where their education quality is weak in comparison to like Michigan.
University of Texas- Austin
University of Alabama
