Race initiative planned after Pa. blackface flap The Associated Press Updated: 11/17/2010 07:06:41 PM EST BETHLEHEM, Pa.—An eastern Pennsylvania university says it plans a new race relations educational initiative after two fraternity members attended an off-campus Halloween party in blackface makeup. Lehigh University officials are not identifying the two men who changed their skin color and wore tennis skirts to dress as tennis superstars Serena and Venus Williams. Officials say the two said they did not think the costumes would be insulting and have expressed remorse. Officials say the incident came to the attention of the administration after pictures taken at the party surfaced on a social networking site. Esther Lee, president of the Bethlehem Branch of the NAACP, said the action was "offensive and insulting." University officials told The (Easton) Express-Times that the two could face disciplinary action from the fraternity, which was not named. www.ldnews.com/news/ci_16640712Attachments:
