I was just named TKE chapter advisor at Uof M. I made clear that NO hazing will occur in the chapter under my watch. I hope I can make them understand the importance of a zero tolerance policy within the chapter.

What school is U of M?

Interesting read and be sure to read the insert of the Rise and Fall of Greeks. I guess SAE may not be the True Gentlemen they profess to be.

Uof M is University of Michigan - main campus at Ann Arbor, MI.
Thanks for mentioning the read on "The rise and fall of Greek chapters" also... interesting to me with TKE being involved in it and mentioned in the article. They were originally chartered in 1925 on campus, the colony was established in 2009 to recharter at some point.
I'm getting them a Board of Advisors (some places called Board of Trustees) put together. Sunday night I told them I would and have 5 signed on through last night. So in that regard they will have steady guidance to make sure they are operating with in acceptable parameters.

Talk about University of Michigan- Ann Arbor being the best and top notch and most prestiguous Big 10 public universities that is pretty big on academics, athletics and tradition. I know at Ohio st- we are football rivals and have a tradition of Michigan Week of Ohio st- michigan where we attack Michigan and cheer on our football team to defeat them which we always have. Not to mention here we hate Michigan football.
I even remember one time talking to a SX guy a while ago about how he almost committed or decided to University of Michigan but had a deal breaker with greek life up there.Same with another guy who I remember almost went to the school I now go to. Perhaps that SAE up at michigan may be a representation of greek life??? Personally I don't really agree with what they were probably thinking but at the same time I would respect what he wants.

One thing that LXA did was to break up into areas which I found to be wise.
1. House Corporation even with out an owned house. 2. Alumni Advisory Board to work with chapter. 3. Alumni Association to work with Alumni.
You have made a very smart move as IHQ normally cannot keep tabs on Chapters until something happens and they are suspended by IHQ or School for infractions. This is very important when it comes to Flag Ship Schools which we all want to be on if we are already there. Going back is even tougher as you know.
Growth as we know it will be on smaller so called state or private schools. Going onto a Flagship school is very expensive as a new GLO. We all know most GLOs do not have really deep pockets to do this!!!
