A student at University of Northern Colorado was charged with one misdemeanor count of providing alcohol to a minor, in connection with an alcohol related death of Ross Higuchi, 19, at a university frat house two months ago. Kyle Riley, 22, could spend 6 to 18 months in county jail if convicted. The Greely Tribune has more: Witnesses at a Delta Tau Delta fraternity party told police Ross Higuchi, 19, jumped from the balcony of the fraternity house in April during an argument. He was in a coma for four days, and he died from head injuries. [...] Higuchi, named for a late uncle who was killed by a drunken driver in 1987, was found on the ground in front of the fraternity house April 16. His mother said she doesn't believe he jumped on purpose. "He jumped over the railing and landed on the gutter area, and then down. But nobody saw him land. That's what's frustrating for me is not knowing," Higuchi's mother said. According to the TheDenverChannel.com the argument centered on a disagreement about whether Higuchi damaged a door at the fraternity. www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/04/kyle-riley-charged-in-the_n_871363.html

It amazes me that A DTD member was arrested with so little information about the death.
It seems there was a previous problem before he jumped.

That is jsut the filing for the criminal charges - then the parents can/will sue for civil charges and teh kid may never be able to own a house or nmuch more than a beater car until the debt is paid if the parents win the suit.

I for one would like to get more information on this.
As usual being Greek, the blame is always on the chapter or a member.
A prime case was at Un. Ks. at the SAE chapter where a pledge died. It was blamed on hazing until it came out that the kid was an alcoholic and the parents knew it.
Many times kids do things with no thought as they will live forever and oops, things go awry. It is no more than they would do at home under mommy/daddys care!
