TJ while that may be true according to the written word of ALL GLO's, I wonder how often it is followed? I am seeing it more and more with intergration of Blacks into white GLOs, but is not so in the Divine 9 as they are more closed than we are. We try to do the best we can and while I was flabbergasted to see some blacks in my chapter, I have come for many years now to accept it as have a close Brother who has done a lot for the chapter and has my respect a 1,000 time over! Not sure, but it sure makes me proud of my fellow Brothers and others in different GLOs to say HEY, see what we have done when others haven't!

I first met black brothers in TKE in 1981 at our National Convention.
While we were not "closed" it wasn't super common for integrated chapters either. Since then, I've met many many many black brothers and my chapter has extended and had bids accepted and am proud that we don't and didn't have a clause prohibitting their being brothers in TKE.

I commend TKE as a head starter and now I remember that TKE was the first and I think LXA was soon there after. I think we were the first of doing away with Hazing. While I first heard of it in 1966, it happened some years later.
Between the two Fraternities, we did have a lot of firsts!

I'm too old to remember which GLO, but I know at least one "white" GLO has had a black guy as natl. pres.
